Procedure Steps

  1. 1

    Restrooms

Clean and sanitize all toilets, urinals, and sinks. Restock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap dispensers. Mop floors with disinfectant per product label contact time. Clean mirrors. Empty trash and replace liners. Check partitions and stall doors.

  2. 2

    Kitchen & Break Room

Wipe down countertops, tables, and appliance surfaces. Clean sink and faucet. Empty and reline trash and recycling bins. Spot-clean appliance fronts (microwave, refrigerator handle). Mop or sweep floor.

  3. 3

    Open Office & Workspaces

Empty all desk-side trash cans and replace liners. Vacuum carpeted areas or dust mop hard floors. Wipe down shared surfaces (printers, copiers, conference tables). Dust horizontal surfaces within reach.

  4. 4

    Conference Rooms

Wipe down tables, chairs, and armrests. Clean whiteboards if used. Vacuum floor. Empty trash. Straighten chairs, remotes, and supplies.

  5. 5

    High-Touch Surface Disinfection

Disinfect all high-touch points throughout the building: door handles and push plates, light switches, elevator buttons, stairwell handrails, shared equipment panels (copiers, printers), reception desk surfaces, and vending machine buttons. Use EPA-registered disinfectant and follow label contact time.

  6. 6

    Elevators & Stairwells

Wipe elevator panels, buttons, and handrails. Vacuum or mop elevator floors. Sweep stairwell landings. Wipe stairwell handrails and light switches.

  7. 7

    Hallways & Common Areas

Vacuum or mop all hallway floors. Dust light fixtures and vents within reach. Spot-clean walls and scuff marks.

  8. 8

    Entrance & Lobby (Final Pass)

Clean glass doors and entrance windows. Vacuum or mop entrance mats. Wipe down reception desk and waiting area furniture. Empty lobby trash cans. Best practice for occupied buildings: clean the entrance last, as it gets re-trafficked while other areas are being cleaned.

  9. 9

    Final Walkthrough & Log Decision

Walk through all cleaned areas. Check for missed spots. Verify trash liners replaced and supplies restocked. Ensure all lights are off in unoccupied areas. Lock secured areas. Complete and sign the cleaning log.
